Have 235 70 R16 tyres but am having difficulty finding cheap wheels to fit.
Anyone know which other vehicle wheels will fit my1999 cherokee xj sport?

 

Well I know Icons will work. Came on some '97 and up higher optioned XJ's and some of the Jeep Libertys.
Get lucky like me and find a set of 4 for a $100.

 

Ford wheels for some similar era 4wds will fit but have a somewhat different offset to XJ

 

I believe the bolt pattern is 5-Lug on 4.5" Lug Spacing. When searching for used tires, try putting in 5x4.5 in
the search box and see what comes up. I was able to score some pretty nice jeep wheels and tires for only $200
because no one was searching for the wheels and tires that way. They ended up sitting for several weeks unsold
and the seller just wanted to get rid of them at that point. He was asking $400 and I offered $200 and he took it. If
you search that way you will get a lot more hits due to they wont be vehicle specific.

Be on the lookout for 2002-2012 Jeep Liberty wheels. They came in 16-18" diameters (16" being very common), and they shared the same bolt pattern as the Jeep Cherokee XJ from 1984-2001.
