Default Wheel offset

I'm looking at a set of wheels from a liberty to put on my XJ. It's the same bolt pattern, but the liberty is a high positive offset and an XJ is medium offset. I've read about what the offset is but I can't find anything definitive that tells me if they'll work. Anyone have experience with this?

I thought liberties were 5X5" but anyways a positive offset means the wheel is more inside the fender, and vice-versa for negative offset. I've seen a wheel measurement chart around the forum that is very helpful you might be able to find it with a search.
*edit* Nevermind, I did a quick search you're right about the bolt pattern. See? Searching can be very helpful

I did some more searching...so I guess the high positive offset would mean they would just stick out a little further, which I'm thinking isn't a bad thing?

Go meet the guy, bolt one up and see how they look and see if it'll work/ if anything rubs?
