Thanks dude. In my mind it looked good black, I just needed to build up some courage I guess. Wish I had a sand blaster or something similar to use. I just removed all the flakes with 3 diff grades of steel wool, washed the wheels good with a mild soap/degreaser, let dry and sprayed away. I did though use 3 coats of clear on the wheels after the black if that is what you were meaning. Thanks for the input.

raining pretty hard out right now, will pull the jeep out for after shots when the cloud passes.

Being a former army dog,I'd strut my stuff in that one. Not like I already do in my 98.
The rims ties it all totether for sure.

Amen brotha. Former 19D hooah

That is the coolest compliment I have gotten before. I had to show my wife what you said because she thinks im being a redneck hillbilly. These cheap mods I have been doing sure has been fun. I know I need a lift, but this is my DD and truly the suspension on it is pretty sweet. I have never driven a better stock 4x4.

ya man those rims would look really nice

i actually had hoped mine were the rims with rivets like yours, had a fun plan for them >< and I have seen some other people play with colors on the rivets, looks super nice

be sure to upload some pics so we can see

I did 2 tires at a time because I only had 1 jack and no stands, and with waiting 15 mins on average between coats (3black + 3clear)
while sitting out in the hot sun. Might help you figure out how much time you would need. I did the rims/rockerpanel/chrome trim/bumpers the same day and it took 5 hours, not working in a hurry and yes i did take beer/toke breaks.

You thinking got me thinking, and I came up with a really good idea to add more, but not too much, to my jeep cosmetic wise.

I have never seen anyone else do this, and I can't believe how bada$$ it looks. Not even sure I want this cool little cosmetic enhancer released yet because of its originality! But for 8$, and an hours worth of time, its a sick look for these xj's
