Question Wheel backspacing

Hello, new to the forum. looks great so far. i did a search and couldn't find anything on backspacing so heres my question. I've got a 90 xj with 4.5 lift. I have 33x12.5x15 tires and i would like to know the best backspacing. I am ordering the Cragar soft 8s and I'm a little confused on the right set up. I want to go with a 15x8 wheel. Thanks for any help offered.

You could get away with 4" of BS, if you want the wheels to stick out a little further then you can even go a bit less (numerically).

I would say 4" minimum. Mine have 3.25". I kinda like the wider stance...

X2. For 33s I'd say 3.75 is good. Unless you don't like the wider stance.

I agree, I'm running 4" BS Cragar soft 8's. 4wp has the rims for 209 shipped with center-caps.

Thanks for all of the input. With the information i was going to go middle of the road and go 3.75, but when i went to order them they said 4.00 was as low as they go in the cragar soft 8's which is really what i wanted. U.S steel wheels has the mountain crawlers with 3.75 so maybe i will just go with them. decisions decisions.

I also have Crager Soft 8s with 4" of backspacing. I only have 31s but think I could get away with 32s if I wanted them. Mine came from Summit b/c they have free shipping.

Don't forget, if you get them stuck out there too far, you are gonna be replacing ball joints and wheel hubs more often than you'd care to.
