I just got back from a trip with my jeep.it had been a while since i checked the gas mileage, and since i had recently put a pvc cold air intake w/heat sheild on.as well as cut the exhaust off at the cat including the cat.then put a cherry bomb on with a turn out in front of the rear tire.any ways did the numbers and am getting 17 mpg with 31's and 169.000 on it. I was surprised and just curious if that was about the average?

i just tuned mine up completely, cap rotor plugs wires fuel filter and replaced o2 sensor, i get 13 mpg in the city in the winter with warm up everywhere i go. on the hiway i just got 20 mpg, but it makes a huge difference if you stay where the jeep wants to be. mine is around 1950 rpm, just over 60. great mpg there after 2100 rpm or so it will start drinking. 70 mph and up you are not getting good mpg.
oh yeah, mine has 31" tires also, so these numbers are a hair low due to tire size, not much though.

Averaging 17 with half and half city/highway miles. Stock stock stock everything. Havent changed out anything except for a normal tuneup. (plugs, wires, cap, button, oil)
My ZJ is averaging about 17-18 with 31's. I have 3.55 gears. All of my exaust and intake are still stalk. I was thinking of starting with just a throttle body spacer before I upgrade anything else. Ive heard they help by a mile or two to the gallon.

12mpg! Just put an intake on it, see if that helps, but I'm going to do a complete tune up on it. O2 sensor probably needs replaced as I don't know when it was changed last its at 302K miles right now but its been maintained pretty good so its probably been changed a few times but might be time to replace it again. Cat pipe might be clogged too.
