Is it worth it? I believe that I have him talked under 2 grand... I may be driving two hours tomorrow to pic this sucka up. He is asking 2,200

One down-side... 270K on the od. I know this is fine for the 4.0s.. but I have no clue how this thing was maintained.

i paid $2200 for mine it has 215,000 on the clock has a rusty's 5" short arm lift with the rusty's 5"full leafs in the rear plus a 2"bb lift on top of the rusty lift
here are some pics of it when i first got it it dont look like this now

i tend to stay away from already modified rigs. you just never know what the owner did to it, good and bad.

i will agree with you there i havre had to fix some things on mine the po didnt do right and/or reused some of the stock stuff

Thanks for the info! The guy is the head mechanic of the VW shop in Chattanooga and the lift was put on 3K ago... with reciepts to back it up. I think its a good deal.. I'l let yall know!!

yea the purple is krylon rich plum i still need to finish the top then wet sand the whole thing i have less that $20 in the dark purple and the pics of the lighter purple was $7 worth of rattle can

I wouldn't go near it with a ten foot pole, to each his own though. Not only does the motor have 277k on it but the tranny is a piece of crap. If you want to buy it for parts $2k isn't really realistic if you ask me.

The 96+ have the better tranny in them correct??

No, not sure where you got this idea.

This is my point, hes already modified this rig and knows everything right and wrong on it. You for the most part won't until you own it. Ask him details on the tranny, engine, rebuilds, etc...but i still wouldn't even bother.
