For people who have bigger tires and/or gearing. How exactly are you figuring your mpgs? Most people dont change there speedo gear to make there odometer right so i am assuming 98% of you havent. Which makes your trip meter off. which makes figuring your mpgs from it not very accurate.
just wondering

^^ Very good point made by posjeepxj...Never really thought about that. So soes that mean that jeeps with bigger tires show that they have less miles then are actually on the jeep?

mileage: 285K
tire size: 33x12.5-15
lift size: 3.5 RE superflex
driving style: depends if im late, but regular otherwise
aftermarket: yes please??
everything stock except for lift, AC delco platinum plugs, 20W50 castrol, 3.07 gears, AX-15
city/highway ratio: 60%highway 30%street 10%wheeling
Depending on the wind, which can be very erratic here in Southern New Mexico, I can get anywhere from 15mpg (bad wind) to 20mpg(no wind)
I usually drive on the highway in 4th gear depending if Im going up hill and wind conditions, if im going downhill and/or no wind, and/or have a nice drafting partner I pop it into 5th

2000 XJ
96k
Everything that would make a stock vehicle have the best mileage possible has been done.
12-14mpg.
Taking it to a good place tonight to figure out what is wrong with it.

I finally figured it out, running 235/75/17 with 3:73 gears, mine has the tow package.I'm getting 17 mpg all around. Not bad for an 87 with 261,000 on the clock now.

Man some of you guys are getting terrible gas mileage, I couldn't afford to drive your rigs.
Mine:
2001 XJ
3:55 Gears
245/75/16
Neon Injectors
and I run 89 Octane Fuel
I get 18-20 City, haven't figured Highway since the new wheel & tire package. I anticipate it to be around 22-24mpg.

I used to have really bad LFS, but I can't afford the gas anymore. I can't believe the difference it makes just accelerating slower, saves a ton of gas.
