Yeah cleaned that tip up pretty good. Today coming home from church it would be below the 210 tick while moving but right when I'd stop it'd jump above 210. It seemed to idle higher than usual at 700ish rpm. I think I'm going to try to go down to the dealer this week and hopefully it's just a faulty thermostat causing the heat spike.

Is it possible to use a obd1 sensor to control the fan?
And from my understanding the jeep has 3 coolant sensors. One in the radiator to control the fan turning on, one at the back of the block to control the gauge, and one at the bottom of the block for the ecu correct?

No. That just controls the idle speed. The ECU controls the mixture by adjusting the fuel injector pulse width based on input from the MAP, CTS, and IAT. Then in closed loop, the O2 sensor becomes a major player.

Im a diesel machanic and on most diesel engine the use an iat intake ambient temp and cts coolant temp sensor to adjust fuel time and fuel ratios then obviously the o2 sensor montiors nox and co and makes fine tune adjustments off that info i would image that a gas motor would be simalar that a temp sensor would be a key pid in fuel timing ignition timing and so on but i could be wrong cant know everythong just trying to help
