My oil pressure gauge hovers around 40 and barely goes up when I give it gas, is that normal?

 

yea its normal. mine stays between 20 and 60 psi. when it gets down to idle does it get a bit lower then 40 say like 30-ish?

 

Yeah, it stays between 35-45. I just figured that it would fluctuate a little more than that... I didn't know if this was normal or not, because i had the cluster with the idiot lights, and just swapped the gauges so I wasn't sure.

 

yea that is normal. little known fact is that most veichles can run at idle around 5 PSI, you might want to change your oil just to make sure though. otherwise i wouldn't worry about.
