whats a good price on a 97-99 xj?
I have been looking for a new xj to start my work on and I seem to get a large range of prices.
for one with 60K or less miles clean rust free the going seems to be 9-10k
once you get to the 140,000 miles or more the prices dip way down to 5k or so.
Is 10k reasonable for a lower mileage xj?
I know it would have low miles and likely 1 owner ect but it isgoing to be at least 14 yrs old??
what do you guys think?
Thanks

not sure where you're from it would be helpful to fill out your user info....
market is effected by many factors, with that said I don't care where its at 10k is INSANE !!!! this isn't a classic that will appreciate in value there is no point in that unless you're a purist enthusiast...
but if you intend to alter and modify the jeep in anyway get in the cheapest you can find within reasonable condition, body, rust and mechanical wise....
again geography matters and right now you will pay premium in the winter

being in PA in the winter you WILL pay PREMIUM regardless..... now in the spring that's another story...
EDIT: I paid $2400 for my '97 with 144K bone stock, from pinstripe up it was primer from PO to mask the clear coat fading/peeling... had a cracked windshield and a cracked header panel (front clip) but its strong has pwr everything, had newer A/T tires and is completely rust free.....

You just need to go on a road trip. You can find Cherry low mileage XJ's down here all day long for less than 6k.
With that said, anyone that pays more than 6k for an XJ today is a sucker.
