Whever a company lists a shackle for a certain lift, say 1.5", the shackle it's self is manufactured 3" larger than stock. Just wanted to make that clear before someone bought a 1.5" lift shackle thinking they'd only get .75" of lift. Now if you do plan on making your own home brewed shackles then that tidbit Bob pointed out is very usefull to know.

For OP, the problem some have with shackles on stock leafs is that some of the leafs get flattend out and the shackles can cause some axle wrap.

eh... my leaf's are already flattening a bit without any mods to it, so if I'm understanding what I'm reading, a shackle idea for an inch or two might be bad if I'm already dealing with saggy leafs, right?

It won't be anyworse than doing any other kind of lift. Stock Cherokee springs are so soft that they will naturaly over time lose lift and start to invert on there own. The best bet is to make some new leaf springs to replace them. However if your just looking for 1 to 1.5" of lift in the rear then you'll be fine installing a shackle.

Well what I really want is about 3.5", but don't have the money at the moment, and want better clearance for the 30x9.5 tires I just put on it... so this seemed to be a good low-cost way of preventing my tires from rubbing on the fenders
