Axle U-joint. That hold the inner shaft to the outer stub shaft. Mad like that so you can turn the wheels and what not.

yup, and judging by your year, it'll be a 5-297x spicer joint.

unless it's from an older pre 96, it'll be a 5-260x since it has no abs.

nope, it's not a cv joint.

top shaft is u-joint.

bottom shaft is cv joint.

both with abs tone ring.

That is a double cardan driveshaft, a constant velocity (homocinetic) joint is something different. He has no cv joints on his jeep.

every body look at the pics of the two axles the bottom one is a cv joint your drive shaft does not have that kinda joint. like fantic said it is a double cardan joint that is on the front shaft. now that we have an idea what they are nobody will order the wrong part right. the joint in the top picture is a u-joint. sorry if it sounds like i am dumbing it down a lot but everybody gets them confused all the time.
