I'm debating if I should keep my Roof Rack on daily or if I should just put it on when i need to haul extra gear?

I'm not planning on putting lights on it and don't think i'm going to mount my spare up there

So my question is what do you use your roof rack for on a daily basic??

 

Nothing. I take mine off unless I'm camping. It's a little inconvenient, but I'd rather get better gas mileage.

 

I use my rack at least once a week besides being a nice place to keep the spare tire. It's great for camping cuase it gives extra room when you got passengers. Plus I use it every week to haul the trash cuase I dont want that stuff inside. I basicly use mine like a truck bed, If I can lift it on the roof thats where it rides.

I was thinkin bout takin it off a while back to help with the MPG's since it's my DD, but with how often I use it I decided it's worth keepin.

 

I was thinking about going to the local surplus store and trying to find an ammo box that would fit across the width of the rack... anyone else ever done this?

 

When I'm wheeling it: Spare tire, 5 gallon gas can, recovery strap, and hi lift

Daily: Just my spare
