Default Roofrack woes

Just bought my 97 xj 4dr. I bought it as a used city truck and my only real question besides lift questions is this
Gov't workers installed a real nice kargomaster roofrack on it the only problem is they drilled (6) 3/8" holes through the roof to mount it. Well it rattled all to hell and leaked rain water so I removed it and sealed it the best I could.
QUESTION....
How can I properly install this rack with a bare factory roof (no stock rack)

"Gutter Mounts" they are made by many different companies and you could even make a set yourself. http://www.jcroffroad.com/Merchant2/...ry_Code=XJMISC are one example

You would have to do a little welding

I used those JCR mounts and some 2x5/16th" flat bar to make some strong cross bars, which i bolted my roof rack onto. This requires welding though

yes, there is a fastener called a RIVNUT, use silicone when you install em and get 1in spacers to lif the rack up some and run some 2in grade 8 bolts into the rivnuts and your done!

BTW the name kinda says it all theyre rivits that are threaded and you can put a bolt in them lol
