Got rear-ended and need a bumper. What is the span of years that will fit my Sport. 2001, 4 dr, 4wheel with factory tow.
Are there any markings on the inside of a bumper that's already been removed so I know I'm getting the one that will fit? I haven't removed my bumper yet, not till I'm ready to fix it.

1997-01 should be a direct fit. Prior years *might* fit, but the plastic bumper fillers on the end will be different. They sell the ends new online for $15 each or so.

 

'97-'01 will have the correct end caps, prior years the bumper will bolt right up but the end caps won't work and won't accept the '97+ end caps.

 

97-01. The bumpers are formed with a specific shape designed to use 97+ end caps, like others said.

Using an older bumper won't have the same shape cross section and will not work with the end caps.
