No, thats just stupid really, unless your truck is setup for it and I really dont think yours is.. at all. Besides the trackbar barely sees any force in a jump and shouldnt be the first thing to hits rocks.

But if your on o trail at rc it can

Check out Rock Krawler, Iron Rock Offroad or a Rugged Ridge.

When you jump and land, all that force is going up into the springs, bumpstops, and control arms. The trackbar keeps the axle centered. It does get some force but not as much as these other parts. If you are sliding sideways down a hill and ram a tire into a rock, then yeah the trackbar takes most of that force. I jumped my TJ a few times and didn't do any harm to the stock trackbar but i did damage my shocks and and flattened my bumpstops.

Here's my friend following my footsteps:

he did that four times. bent the axle tubes, control arms, lost the bumpstops, destroyed the shocks, bent the uni-body, and cracked up his fenders but no harm done to the trackbar, and it was the dimpy wimpy stock one.

I run the JKS trackbar because it's beefy like heck. Ran it on my old rig after constantly replacing heim joints every 6 months (superlift t-bar) and never had to touch it in 2 and 1/2 years. Now i run it on the xj and it never needs attention.

No, the trackbar doesnt take nearly as much force as you're saying it does. Yes it sees force, but not as much as other parts of the front end. Trailer queens suck anyway.

I dunno, looks like my trackbar is pretty well protected to me.

And here's stock:

Yup, looks like youll just bend the stock tie-rod first. Any worthwhile aftermarket trackbar can take a decent hit.

That's a nice setup 93XJLI

I was wondering about the 4wd t-bar with a heim. I saw it at 4wd hardware last week and it had a regular tie rod end on it. Maybe Wicked swapped it for a heim?

That picture of a TJ's front steering/suspension is actually using a teraflex adjustable trackbar. I had that one before the JKS and it was pretty good. Easily adjustable without disconnecting any bolts but the poly bushing was poopy. I wonder if it would fit on an XJ.

first, i wouldn't jump a 4wd, especially an xj.

second, if you have a super flexy jeep with a bit of lift, you might want one with a flex joint, jonny joint, jimmy joint or RE joint instead of the stock style ball joint. these require a custom bracket that replaces the stock one on the frame mount.

and yes the track bar takes a lot of force. however it is sideways force mostly, but every rock or dip on the trail puts huge amounts of force on one. ask me how i know. haha.

spend the bux and get a good heavy duty one if it's in your budget.... (rubicon express HD or rusty's HD)
