someone on here said the antifreeze has enough chemicals in it to prevent corrosion and such so your home water should be fine.

the minerals in hose water are what cause rad problems and coolant problems.Originally Posted by redmuck

With the t-stat cover and water pump off, stick the garden hose in the t-stat hole. This will flush the head/block. Use the garden hose to also flush the heater core and radiator. Do not flush one into the other.Originally Posted by 99 XJ

Mine will get onto the 210 mark at idle. Mostly runs about 205 ish. I have a 180 t-stat, the logic for the ecm to turn on the electric fan is gone, so it's wired to come on with the key, and I have a 96 model electric fan on my 95 with the curved blades and more of them.

The ecm doesn't adjust rich or lean per temp. Ecm reads the O2 sensor for this not how hot your water or motor is. Higher temps would be more harmful. Heat breaks down & thins out your oil, can warp or crack your heads.get your jeep up to 210+ & tell me it runs better than 180-190. Hotter your motor gets the more the performance drops off. Mine runs nice & cool without running lean, without hesitation, in fact it runs better, oil still looks new at oil changes, oil pressure doesn't drop from oil thinning out caused by excessive heat. There's way more negatives to a hot motor than one that runs cool.Originally Posted by cdawall
the in town temp wont the freeway temps a little low forcing the motor to run lean which will lower performance, worsen gas mileage and shorten life. no tstat is fine for a drive home but for everyday driving its bad...

i have a 95 cherokee. the temp is getting up to about 230ish and want it down to 210 it runs hot on the freeway and just replace the water pump and it was flushed and a new 195 therm. was put in. It runs at 210 without air but runs hot with cold air. anyone can tell whats going on? i have looked over almost everything and still running hot.

my 91 is running a little hot i think.... on the highway it stays around 210-215 but in town, it gets up to 235.....almost 240.
