So im getting ready to do some exhaust work tomorrow or sunday on my XJ and need to know the size of the exhaust it has. Its the stock exhaust with the stock cat and muffler. I cant tell if it is 2 1/4 or 2 1/2? Also whats some of your opinions on getting rid of the cat as well? Because my cat is SHOT!!! And my muffler leaks do to rust on it. So my thinking is to cut the cat off and put a new muffler on it and weld the o2 bung back on the pipe that way its still there. So if you guys could help my out on this that would be great. Thanks.

typically 2 1/4 pipe. be careful about the cat. some state frown on removing them.

Well im in ohio and they got rid of the inspections. So im good there. Has anyone had any problems with it when they remove the cat?
