What should temperature of thermastat housing be?

i hope ur jeep doesnt run at 240!! a stock thermostat is rated at 195 degreesF if that what ur gauge reads on the dash (or somewhere around 210 or less) then its working fine

i just replaced it with the gauge it came with a new one it replaces the oe one because i cannot change it without breaking the plactic off the connector because of the angle

was it the temp sensor that was in the thermostat housing that u replaced, or the one that is in the back of the cylinder head?
