My wife's '96 Blazer reads almost the same as the XJ. I've got a mechanical set up sitting in the garage (good place for it). I should hook it up.

My oil pressure runs a bit high also according to the stock gauge, using 10w-30.
Higher with Rotella 15-40.
However, it's about flow and not pressure.
To be sure it's flowing, use a flashlight and look in the valve cover.

I replaced my oil pressure sending unit and it did change the readings slight but not drastically. Now I read around 40psi while driving and around 20psi at idle. Just thought I would give you guys an update.

Low pressure does not indicate a lubrication problem...it indicates a WEAR problem and no amount of oil pressure is going to rectify that!
Best thing I have read in a long time.
