Default What is this? Pictures and Fuse Box

Hey everyone, I'm checking out this motor and trying to get familiar with it but I'm not sure about a couple of this.. warning.. I am a total newbie trying to learn.

1. What is this circular object attached to a wire that is not bracketed down? Had a little oil on it. Any concern?

2. There is a wire with an unattached connector just kind of hanging out. Where is this supposed to go? Surely it's not supposed to be dangling free. I don't see a connection for it..

3. Am I missing any fuses? I don't see a fog light fuse and will be ordering some Hellas to attach to the grille. I have looked at a diagram but it didn't quite match up so I'd like some advice on that.

Thanks in advance Jeepers.

Someone relocated the vacuum ball. And that connector looks like the hood light but the light is gone.

That loose connector may go to the under hood lamp that is fastened to the hood. It can be seen in this pic (you may not have one). Most people unplug it because if it fails it may drain the battery.

Your PDC will have many fuses not installed because some optional equipment is not installed. If your Jeep didn't come from the factory with fog lights you won't have relays or fuse. And, you won't have the fog lamp switch on your aux switch panel.

I don't really understand what the vacuum res does but apparently it helps using AC at high revs and has something to do with cruise control. My heat doesn't really work, doubt that has anything to do with it. Do I need to move it or can I just keep it tucked in there? Not 100% it is functional.
I'm not worried about the hood light.
I do have fog lights on the xj (factory) and have new round to attach to the grille. Looks like I need to pick up a couple fuses in order to make those work. Also, anyone know which of these fuses controls the open door lights and the reverse lights? Neither work, working on NSS right this weekend.

Many say it's needed- the vacuum ball- but I yanked it and capped the vacuum line and everything works A-ok.

I don't have any open door lights. Looked at the dome and its empty and from what I understand there are supposed to me lights under the dash/ash tray that come on. Makes me wonder if there was something wrong with the wiring and the previous owner just pulled them because they were staying on. Gonna pick some up on my trip to Auto Zone this week and check it out. Maybe a fuse is missing because I have no lights inside besides the two little click-ons.

Also, can anyone see anything wrong with my fuse box setup? I do have fog lights that don't work (fuse)?

Accelerating, vacuum can drop to zip. Without the reservoir heat will change from vents to defrost till you let up on the gas. Likewise cruze won't work right if it's denied vacuum while it's gassen it too much. Might work "cruzen" though.

I pulled that bulb, dome, and glove-box also. Just now thinking I might not mind having those lights if they were powered by the ign.
I like off, really being off, without surprises.

Here's your PDC.

See if bubba removed the IOD fuse, or see if it's blown.

Look under the PDC lid. It should ID each relay.

Brilliant CCKen, thank you. I'll check the ION fuse (Not sure what ION stands for, but oh well). LOOKS like I'm not missing any fuses, besides fog lights I believe.
