What oil use the transfer and differential?
Hi:
What kind of oil is the best one to use on the transfer and the differential? I'm going to replace the gasket so I want to use the best product on my 88 XJ so works perfect on mud. Also, have someone instrucctions and pictures step by step?

Use the same as the AW4 tranny in the transfercase. Dextron III or IV in the tranny and the transfercase.
75W90 gear lube in the differentials.

I used 75/90 with the additive for the posi unit in the rear with the clutches...Tj
PS if you have those clutches (posi unit) you should put the additive in or you can ruin the clutch pack or so I was told by the dealer.

ATF+4 is wrong for the AW-4 tranny... No matter what that stupid TSB says.
Dexron II is what Aisin designed it to use, Dexron II isn't available anymore so III or IV are fine. Just not VI, its a special synthetic with specific applications.
Transfer case.. Dex III or 4 also.
The diffs... it will depend on several factors. Usage, towing, temperature ranges the diffs operate under. But 75w90 for lighter duty applications and something heavier in more severe duty.
LSD additive only goes in if you have an LSD. It basically helps keep the clutches from chattering.

DexronIII in the T-case and AW4, 75w140 is recommended by Dana for all axles that see extreme duty. A friction modifier is mandatory for limited slip differentials. Failure to use it will ruin the clutches in no time flat.
