Ok so iam probaly going to buy a cherokee tmrw.what should i look for when iam inspecting it(any common problems)?its a 91' 4.0l 2wd..130k miles on it..minor oil leak..

 

these are so cheap to get into I am curious why not look for a 4x4?

 

well i wasnt really looking for a jeep just came across this is one.guy wants 500 for it!

 

where is the minor leak? Main seal? that is a big job. The 4l should run smooth listen for any tapping. also look under the door when open for rust etc. and look at frame. Jeeps can rust pretty easily I think more do to condition they are driven in then jeep quality.

 

ok just went to look at it.bodys in great shape.interior needs some cleaning.now lets get to the engine it has a slight knock to it.the guy said it does leak out of the rear main seal.and valve covers. wat do u guys think?

 

Run away! save more cash for a better jeep if thats what you want check local craigs list Ive seen some great deals on it. good luck dont throw your money away!

 

I would run from a $500 vehicle, check it out good before you make a decision, I just paid $2200 for my 95 and still had to do some stuff to it.
