What to look for????
Im new to the forum im more of a cummins guy.... Selling my zuki samurai wanting a 4dr trail rider... Im looking at a 1996 xj looks great 121xxx miles for 2000$.. THE JEEPS IN MY PICS... Is there anything i should look for anything that i need to look for that commonly goes out... Is it a good yr? Thanks for your advice..... Mike

dont worrie there seem to be a million of these around for parts. on your 96 u can use alot of parts from 1988-1996 like fenders doors seats u know all that junk for the most part now plz dont quote me becase i may be off a year with my years

a 96 with less the 150k on it for 2000 grand with a good body is a good deal i think. just look for things leaking, check fluids, test drive it make sure every thing works.

i didnt know to look for like certain type of transfer case or tranny... it runs greeaaaatt.. stupid fast tooo... lol not use to power for a trail rider coming from my 63hp suzuki samurai....

do they have common valve cover gasket leaks, it looked like it was leakin. it had 45 to 50 psi oil pressure runing and idling... i saw lil oil leak underneath maybe coming from valve cover gasket....
