What is here is a complete motor. Only bads is the head and 2 vavles, as well as the distributor cap. 2 pistons are bad as well. Everything else looks good. I have no clue what its worth, since I just got into Cherokees.

crap! forgot the pictures. hahaha

For comparison i sold a 4.0l for $100. It was complete and ran with no issues. The buyer did have to take the Cherokee carcass with it.... which is why it went cheap. Otherwise it would have been ~$300.

Honestly, i wouldnt pay 200 for a motor which may or may not be a good core. ie.. head/valve/piston issues.

Might be worth $20 in scrap value.

I would strip it of the head and scrap the block if it is messed up. Sell the head cheap and be sure to tell the buyer it needs rebuilt, sell the intake and injectors.

Well, the head is bad, so its worthless, to me or anyone. The 4.0's in "used" condition are going anywhere from 200-500 around here. This would make a good core for a stroker motor is what I was thinking. No point in scraping it if someone needs the parts.

Thanks for the info Guys!!!

you can get a decent running motor from $80-400 around here if you pull it yourself

I sold a 4.0 with 30k miles for 200, and one with 28k for 100, but he helped me pull it.
