ok, i'm tryin to sell my 1997 G.C.L, i'm askin this xj fourm becouse they havent replied to either of my other posts..so, ok here we go;

my zj is just stallin out...it's a straight 6,4.0; this is what i have replaced;
fuel pump-3months ago
batt.-3monts ago
map sensor-2months ago
crankshaft sensor-2day
full tune up-2months ago(gap in the plugs is correct)
ignition thing (w/the spark plug like wire,and sensor like connector)
idle controll motor

today i put the crankshaft sensor in it and it's still stallin out on me...it sometimes starts rite back up,(or like it just did)...and it wont. I'll let it sit,and about 20-30 min. and then it'll start back up,then stall again.

i checked the fuses and everything else i can think of,,,i really need some help....it starts..runs strong..then a min. later..it coughs out and dies...

plz.,plz., HELP!!!! any suggestions of what it can be??? CAM sensor maybee?? im runnin outta money to put into it..

well, do you know if you're loosing spark or fuel?

^^^^^ Definitely need to know whether you are losing spark or fuel.

Well if you have some spark testers then you could check and see if it quits sparking when it dies or keeps sparking and still dies. As far as seeing if it is a fuel problem a fuel pressure gauge would be the easiest. You would just check to see if it loses fuel pressure.

I dont have either one of those...any other way to check?
