you definitely dont need lockers to have fun 4 wheelin when in the end thats all its about because if dont have fun you might as well go play chess just get a few buddys a good recovery strap or two and go 4 wheelin build your rig as the money comes im not sayin lockers arent good theyre great but its not manditory

I'm not sure whats inside the rear diff of my '88' but it locks both wheels when I put alot of power to it. As far as my '89' I get the 1 wheel spinning when I do the same.

if you have a truetrac it will work like a standard diff
until one wheel looses traction and I think makes three revaluations
then it locks and wont spin even if the one wheels is off the ground

it dosint even make 3 revaluations I gotta pull that diff cover off one day and see whats in there. I do know it grabs enough to break the U-joint at the diff when I do a burn out. Only broke it 3 times before I stopped doing that. LOL
