What does this wire plug go to?

What does this wire plug go to?
I was looking around under the hood today and noticed this lonely male wire plug and wondered if something was supposed to be on the other end or if I should just let it hang. All suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

That is the plug for the underhood light.
The P.O. must have either just taped it there to the harness, or ?
The little tab on the end of the tubing that it comes out of is supposed to be bolted to the hood, next to the light fixture itself.
