Well if you plan to wheel it. Tow Points gets you on the trails. Tow hooks in front and hitch in the rear.
Skids would be next.
Honestly after that, I would look at the $250 lunch box lockers like aussie or lockrite.
If your just driving on the street and want fuel milage. Get a cold air intake. Self bore out the bottom of the throttle body under the butterfly plate. Dump the cat.
So give us an idea of what your shooting for. Daily driver that looks decent or future trailer queen with 5.13 gears, long arm, full lockers, armor, etc.

if you ahve the dana 35 rear end youll want to change it. if you want bolt in look for a chrysler 8.25 rear end, or the dana 44 for the xj. or if you dont mind doing a lil fab work do an 8.8 from an explorer.

i wouldnt buy skids but thats just me i woulda kept the winch and next buy JK axles 1800 bucks from chrysler (4:10 gears, electronic locker, Dana 44) you cant build 44's with all that for that cheap (that is just my dream lol i am 19 and in college)
i have 80 bucks into my bumpers (i work at a machine shop too, free welder use and 1/4"
plate)
but i would do lockers first on a budget.
atleast in the rear!!

What your Cherokee needs is my driveway under the tires and my name in the back of the title.
No?
it was worth a try.
Towpoints, bumpers and skids are a good start. Aussie lockers too.

The lunchbox lockers (Aussie, Powertrax no-slip, lock-right)do not require the ring gear to be removed, so installation is much easier. They just replace the spider gears.
