agreed. I'm making an offer on it tomorrow. They actually got it at 64k miles and put 33,000 miles on it in 5 years. They got it for him back in 2005.

so hopefully we can come to an agreement. Wish I could get it in time for Tuesday's snow storm dammit.

$35 and about half an hour of your time at most. Really easy to fix, they both look like nice jeeps but I kind of like the Silver Sport alittle more. But thats probably because I already have one thats Forest Green haha. And if it was me I wouldnt drop a dime over $4000 for the Silver one. But see what you can do on it.

private party value is $3300-5300 for a 2000 Cherokee Sport (Fair - Excellent)

Body and Interior is about 98% Flawless! Kid took care of it like it was his pride and joy. Only worry part is the engine wetness.

Then Try and do $4500 on it. That seems pretty fair considering how clean it is ect. but if the lowest you can get it to is $4800 then you still did pretty good.

The truck didn't overheat which is a good sign. From the research I did, I have to be careful that it's not a blown gasket for that could cost $500 at least to repair. I'm going to try to factor that into the price. I'm thinking they aren't going to let it go for less than $5000. Rest of the truck is immaculate. Barely a scratch on it.

Lowest he'll go is $5300, he originally was asking $7000. But he realized the BB value was around $5100. Seems to be an honest father and son. Swears up and down that that they haven't had a problem with the truck and the engine has been the same since they day he got it at 64,000.

true, but adding a 2" lift kit does not constitute an increase over the KBB. Seeing as it's in good visual condition, the $5100 is the most i would pay considering the switches that don't work and mechanically it is not perfect (needs some work). And just because he SAYS he maintained it well doesn't prove it. Anyone that religiously maintains their car also keeps records of those maintenance activities (receipts, shop repair quotes, etc). If he has nothing to prove his claims, you have an argument to get him down to KBB value.

People know my opinion on 00-01..
I guess if its just gonna be a pavement princess all I have to say is look it over extremely well! These years are known for head cracks.
Check the oil, make sure its not milky, check the oil fill cap and look for a whitish sludge on the bottom. Check the coolant, it should be a nice green with a sweet smell.
If the oil is milky or the coolant smells like combustion gasses, walk away.

I would go with the silver.

I will definitely check that out before I write the check, I did forget to check the coolant... thanks for the tip!

I have made a decision!

I'm going with the Silver Cherokee Sport!

$5200 was the best he would do, and honestly at this point a $100 or $200 is just splitting hairs.

I will probably pick it up on Friday. Seriously i've looked at about 10+ cherokees and 10 pathfinders. Out of all the Cherokees none of them looked as good as this one. Saw some immaculate 2001 Pathfinders but then you're talking $6000-8000.

It was definitely his pride and joy, I keep my cars maintained just as good and as clean. Honestly it's a craps shoot with 10 year old trucks and 100,000 miles. I did my best to look it over and will just hope for the best.

I'll definitely post some updated pictures with the KC lights etc... but here is what he had.
