A buddy of mine sent me an email asking about these and he's thinking about getting them. These are XJ LCA's for up to 4.5" of lift, slightly longer then stock and slightly angled...So I am curious what you guys opinions are..I know mine and what I would tell him but thought I would get others thoughts as well..He has roughly about 4" of lift on his 93 XJ Sport..

Yeah I told him to spend the extra cash and get soemthing like RE, RC or JKS ones since I had never heard of these before...Which is the route I was going to take on my 3" lift..If he gets em I'll let him test em out.. If they seem solid enough would they be to long for a 3" lift? After reading them they are 5/8" longer then stock..

It would almost be worth it to buy them to see if they are thin walled tubing or good quality DOM tubing. If I had extra cash I would buy a set to see if this guy needs to be congratulated or exposed.

Well my buddy ordered a set...When they get here what's a good way to tell if they are thin walled or good DOM tubing or such? I am not a metal person so other then chopping em in half how would be a good way to tell the quality? if they are good quality and fit well I am ordering me a set..lol

You can drill a small hole in the tube to see how thick it is.(You can weld that back up) Many people can tap on the tube with a small hammer and tell how it sounds and make that determination.(My father could do that) and lastly you can compare the weight of that tube with a known tube to see if it is heavier or lighter than the known tube.

I would forget about those, the joints arent good at all. Get something with johnny joints (sf joints) if you are going to go with aftermarket arms.

Well my buddy ordered em so we'll see what they are like when they get here..To me they look like almost all the other fixed CA's with just bushings...He can't afford a good set of jks's or such with SF or Johny joints..So he's limited and these will be better then the stock worn out ones..

I'm saving up for JKS arms. I saw them on a display jeep in 4wd hardware. BEEFY, just like their trackbar i have. They may be expensive but worth it IMO.

When it comes to control arms on a jeep that needs to flex, fixed joints aren't the best route to take. They stress out the weak control arm mounts. You would be better off with arms that rotate, or have joints that allow rotation.

Yeah I am just gonna save my bennies and get some JKS and a JKS track bar..Start out with a 3" rc lift. Evenutally add some 1" lift boomerang style shackles and a 1" front spacer and call it good.. Maybe an SYE if I need it at some point as well..I want to replace both my upper and lower CA's at some point..
