I just redid the carpet. I dont think there is much you can do to lower the road noise in a cherokee. If you do the carpet just get house carpet and use the old carpet as a stencil.

**** Carpet would be pretty sweet. If you decide against that bedliner i've heard works well, just make sure it is very dry when you apply it or the floor will rust away from under it.

Got any pics of the repair? I'm diving into my floorboard repair tomorrow. After all is said and done, I'm spraying it with undercoating with sound deadener. I'm gonna install some boat plugs in the floor while everything's all ripped apart so when it get's filled with water I just pull the plugs. Depending on how noisy it is, I may put the carpet back over it. If it's not too bad, I'm just gonna toss is some rubber mats.

Oh, mines bad too. My carpet is falling out the bottom of the floor on the driver's side. It's pouring rain right now, so I don't know if I'll be able to do this tomorrow considering I need to throw all the crap from my Jeep on my front lawn while I do everything. Might have to wait till this weekend.

the carpet backing.. the foam stuf thats made up of all kinda diferant foams glued together.. that stuf with all them diferant peaces glued together at millions of diferant angles .. is the best sound deadning stuf you can use..wana sound proof a room ? wall to wall and cealing with egg cartons... all the angles on the inside of the cartons redirect noise back in.. and or cancle the sound.. :} but yea the house hold carpet backing.. is about as cheap as you can get and do the best job..then good carpet ontop...same stuf on the factory carpet.. just do a nicer job.. factory they dont have it every place...or nice and tight ...
