What do bad wheel hubs sound like?

What does a bad wheel hub bearing sound like? (other than sandpaper noise)

Just jack it up and see it the wheel is sloppy or tight. There should be no movement up.

Ahhh I wish it would all be that easy.

Do warped rotors make noise when not braking?

I'm just asking because I get a whooshing noise (whoosh, whoosh, whoosh) when turning left or right. its not life or death just kinda annoying as it gets kinda high pitched on the freeway.

Mine sounded like this; "Honey what is that strange noise? Don't you hear it? I hate that sound. It is driving me crazy. It is coming from the front I think. You need to check that out. But dont think you are spending any more money on this thing. Are we gonna make it to dinner or should we take my Jeep?"
If that is what yours sounds like just have her get out to check for the sound and just drive off. Problem solved!
