I have a white XJ and I am happy with it. The only down fall is if it gets dirty its really easy to see. I say scrap the silver idea cause everyone and their brother has a silver vehicle now a days.

My '91 is factory Silver. ( pics in my photo album, If you want to see what yours would look like.) Silver is the fastest paint to fade out. And I do plan on spraying mine again, For the third time in it's life. I want to keep mine as close to factory as possible. With that said, I've always toyed with the idea, of two-tone. From the body line just below the windows, down. Gloss Black. From that body line up Silver. (Keeping the interior the factory Silver, It wouldn't be that hard to do. And probably wouldn't look that odd. With the door jams, underside of hood, or hatch. Still being silver. Just a lot of taping off.) Then just a hint of Silver flames down, the gloss black sides. Ghost flames, Because Silver is almost all clear with a lot of flake. You put on thin light layer of flake, Barely visible. Until it's in the bright sunlight. Then they would stand out. I've been spraying cars, for 30 years now. And have done several ghost flames jobs already. Usually I use "House of color" paints for this. And lay the flames out in the base coat, With a nice coat of candied paint over it. But it can be done over the black base, Silver on top of it. And a few coats of clear over all. that's just my idea. Good luck to you.

haha to ^^ on the bedliner... i plan on sanding down the entire rig, removing the trim faces on the side panels and tack welding up the holes, sanding it down once again and painting it olive drab

have you ever though about army green or marine tan? just flat color, with a bedliner for the bottom half. after all the word jeep came from military "general purpose vehicle"
Silver is alright. I like black or dark green more, but silver is nice because you can see the dirt, but it doesn't show too bad.
Also silver with black rimes, bumper, grille guard, and black window rain guards is going to look sweet!
