Default what is the cheepest/best sye?

i am looking to put a 3inch rough country lift on my xj with 1inch spacers and either blocks or shackles...so i have come to the conclusion that to lift my jeep anything over 2inches i will need an sye? correct?

So what all is included in this sye deal? i know a lot about lifts on land rovers and dodge rams..but not much on jeeps...so please help me out here...sorry for the dumb questions probably...but thats what a forum is for

O...and where can i find a solid one that will be budget friendly but also be dependable

You don't "need one" but it is recommended. I used the Rubicon Express hack 'n' tap, cost about 100 bucks plus the cost of a drive shaft. I used a grand cherokee front driveshaft, paid 75 bucks. I've been beating on it for over a year now, no problems yet. Here's a link for ya

I am running roughly 3 to 3 1/2 inches and without the use of a sye. if your're worried just ****** up a long travel yoke from rustys, it's like 70 bucks or something. But honestly, I beat the hell outta mine and have never had a problem or reason to worry. I hear rugged ridge sell a sye for under 300 bucks though, but at that point you'll need a new driveshaft. Front cv styles work on the rear with an sye, or you can purchase a new one thats a little more beefy. I really wouldn't worry until you have reason to worry though. Hop this helps. Late.

Where did you purchase the flange for the this one? That connects from the driveshaft.

I got it from my local truck shop. They make drive shafts, I just brought the two ends into them and they gave me the part to make it work. I will try to find the part#.

Depending on the year of your jeep and lift height will depend on need of SYE. A 3" lift doesn't require it, from what i understand. The last few yrs of cherokees have the LP axels which don't tolerate lifts over 3" very well. Which is why i only have a 3" lift. Those with HP axels will know better than i do, but they should be able to get away with a 4.5" lift w.o SYE modifications. I would like to BB another inch and drop t case 1" and will hopefully be O.K
