Die Hard. Its all Ive always used.
Now, I dont use a winch but I do have aftermarket foggers and 4, 55w halogen off road lights. I also have an aftermarket stereo that includes 4 speakers, sub & amp. I use a radar detector, cell phone charger and ipod every time Im in my Jeep. Im in Northern Maine, use the back roads every day hunting and fishing all year so Im "off roading" regularly. Northern Maine weather ranges from -10 or colder for 3-4 weeks in January to 90+ for 3-4 weeks in July/August. My current Die Hard is 6 this past winter and still going strong. When its REALLY cold here (like -30) for a week in mid January, it cranks a little hard in the morning when she's sat all night, but Ive never had ANY other trouble than that.
My starter went recently and I was hoping it was the battery, but after using my charger and checking over things, it was the starter. New starter and she's running fine again. The only battery Ive ever had DIE on my was NOT a Die Hard. Know lots of people who use them and never have problems.
I dont think anyone could convince me to NOT use Die Hard.

I've got an optima red top 800cca, had it in my 96 for three years now its in my 99, no issues with it. I live in nw pa, the winters are rough snow wise, and it gets cold, never -30 though lol. Not sure when optima started outsourcing but im happy with mine. Running a couple pioneer premier amps a set of hella 500's and a set of 500ff's converted to hid, and an upgraded lighting harness with higher output bulbs. No issues at all, I've ran it dead a few times and it bounces back.

so i just found out my battery is finally dead. (everstart that ive had for 6 years now) i need to get a new one so i decided to search and found this thread.
i need something that will work in extreme cold and snow, (like -20* CO winter) as well as really hot (120* moab and AZ summer). i need something decently cheap do to how insanely broke i am but i dont want something that will only last 3 years.
what would you guys recommend? (it sounds like diehard is the way but those aren't exactly cheap, anything else or should i just go for it?)

I believe duralast is made by interstate.
i currently have an optima in my buggy only because nothing else fits in the box thingy but i really like the dekka batteries which i was just informed that they make the diehard batteries! i am a dealer for dekka and have never had to warranty one out yet! my brother runs the intimidator which has been great!!

Interstate Megatron for me, love it so far, its taken my abuse and leaving lights on and started up everytime. Had a napa one for 3 or 4 years but im very hard on my batteries so I felt I got good use out of it.

Im on a tight budget, would it be worth it to pay 25 more for a die hard battery over a plus start battery? Both class 34. I have an aftermarket stereo and speakers and possibly get a small single sub and maybe fogs or offroad lights (rarely used).

As with most things, it paid off to spend a little more and get much higher quality product, just like spending more on a better oil or air filter.

Really? Die hard. I always here they are ok but Interstate is the way to go. I believe the Walmart batteries are good ones. The previous owner of my metro put one in. Back in March 07. I have hid fogs running to it...and 1700 watts in speakers and sub. Sub was in there when he bought it. I added more speakers. But its working 100%. No problems. I can even run the system for hours before it dies(engine off)....did it while having a bon fire. Lol. I can't remember who makes the Walmart batteries....want to say interstate...but could be wrong.
