what backspacing is "healthy"?
Got my eye on some used rims advertised with 3.5" of offset. I'm assuming the seller is thinking backspacing. Is this healthy for my axle bearings? According to my math, I'm a full inch off my centerline for the rim. How much strain is that on my precious underparts?
My math:
15x8 rim has a total wheel width of 9"
9 divided by 2 = 4.5
4.5 - 3.5 backspacing = One inch from center (AKA -1.0" offset).
Thanks,
s
