my key was stuck in the ignition,however i double checked the cable that hooks to my shifter,fiddled around w/it..and that was my problem. Now all i do is bump it when i put it in park and the key locks,and comes out!!!!

Same thing happens with my kids XJ, have to move the shifter a little bit forward and the key comes out easy.

I read your post, but someone beat me to the punch on the shifter linkage input!
