Just got a 92 briarwood. Not sure which axels I have.

There is also a leak in the rear axel. Where should I even start with that?

Thanks

That leak is standard. Nothin to worry about unless your leaving a puddle.

So the leak doesn't need to be fixed? By no means is it leaving puddles but as the picture shows it is leakin

Uh, if its leaking it needs to be fixed. That leaking fluid doesn't make it back in magically. Over time you will lose enough to do damage.

Not leaking, weeping. Big difference. Leaks leave puddles, weeps leave the surface wet. If youre REALLY concerned with it, pull the cover, clean everything up really well and put a new gasket on it. Then hope it doesnt start weeping again.

Forget getting a gasket, use RTV.

Well, it requires a new plug in there and ya gotta refill it after. It's got a bit of fluid around it, but if there is no puddles then your fine. It's a bit disconcerting to see, but take a look at other dif covers and compare...

RTV makes a gasket, no? Isnt a gasket simply a seal?

"Normal" and "typical" are 2 different things - and just because it is "typical" doesn't mean it is "normal" or "acceptable".

My diff covers don't look like that.
