i dont even know how to use it. can i ditch it and everything that gose with it. it connects to somthing on the side of the intake and has hoses going to it can i just pull it out?

If you can (and if you care), try to disconnect the cable from the actuator arm on the throttle body by sliding the plastic connection piece off the arm in the opposite direction of the cable. If you just try to pry it off, you will break it. They aren't very easy to find anymore, and the whole unit will be useless without a way to attach to a throttle body.

From what little one can see in your picture, I'm guessing that you have a Renix era Jeep.
Even if you don't want to use it, or learn how, it's not in your way, so why not leave it? You're likely to break something trying to take it out. There are electrical connections, a vacuum line and the actuator cable. There's also a number of components under your dashboard that are part of the system, not to mention the multifunction switch on the steering column. ......All parts that are valuable to a lot of folks who work on these Jeeps.

My 2 cents. . . .
I was thrilled to find out my '99 XJ had 'Cruise' when I bought it and even more thrilled that it works.
Don't use it much if at all for local driving but on the interstate, man o man it's great!
