I'm not going to say its perfectly safe or unnoticeable but I have a spool in a wrangler on 39.5" swampers that I drove to Florida and back, and a spool in my cherokee on 35" swampers. I'm comfortable driving both at highway speeds. You just have to understand its a modified 4x4 and not a sports car. You will have tire chirps and some wear.

thanks suburban sam, just what i wanted to hear, don't want to have to tow the jeep everywhere cause i can't turn or go on the hwy 
guess it would cause tire slippage when taking a turn on the road in wet weather
