Default Weird turn signal problems????

I have a really weird turn signal problem.

Everything works BUT my left rear. I checked my bulb (installed a brand new one too), still no workie....

I know my turn signal switch on the column has been acting up. The turn signal switch sometimes does not lock in the left or right position.

Is it posible that the is something broken in the turn signal switch that is preventing JUST the left rear signal from not working?

The contacts look fine and I "wiggled" the bulb to try and see if there was a short there, still no good. It's only a matter of time before I get a ticket(s)......

you need a test light to see if you have voltage.

Good Point, I will try the multimeter...I don't have a test light.

Any other ideas?

well if you have voltage, it's probably a ground, if you don't it's time to start checking your wiring.

That's weird, I went out to the XJ and removed/reinstalled the bulb, it now works!

The bulb has the wire terminal the wraps on both sides, so it "should" work both ways you plug it in.

Either way, it works now-I'm happy...

Thanks for the help!!!

Then it was just a bad connection, the socket's probably corroded.
