A 1" tc drop and 2 degree shims fixed it for me. A sye and a cv driveshaft should not be necessary for a 3" lift.
I didn't install a tc drop because i read that most people with the same 3" lift didn't need them. The drum to the brakes in the back is loose for sure, i can move it while i have the car jacked up even with the tire on.

I think the brake issue is unrelated to the noise you are hearing. You said that it makes the noise when getting on and off the gas, so it should not be a brake problem. On my 99' I had vibrations from only 2" of lift.

When you say you can move the brake drum do you mean that the axle moves in with it? A c-clip style axle will have a small amount of in and out movement but it should have no up and down movement.

Maybe i'll buy a tc drop just in case.

no the axle doesn't move with it, i can actually take the drum right off with ease, i'm not sure if it's suppose to do that. It does have a small amount of up and down movement.

If you haven't already, read up on how to remove the studs when you do a tc drop. They can be a real pain.

The brake drum is just held on by the wheel and lug nuts. My MPV has two screws that hold it to the hub but the Cherokee has nothing extra.

I had to replace the outer axle bearings because of too much vertical play at the wheels.
