I just cut out the carpet in my hatch area so I can put some bed liner on it and I drove it and noticed a hissing sound from the rear it doesn't really get louder or faster as I step on the gas and from the outside you can only hear it if you squat down at the rear of the jeep My exhaust turns down right before the rear axle and you can barely hear it outside the car but in the hatch area without the carpet you can hear it pretty good. Never noticed before and I thought it may be the fuel pump, there's no leaks(no strong oder other than exhaust fumes) and it only can be heard when the cars on?
