weird cv axle clicky clattery sound need help
my jeep is making a funny sound, i thought it was only when in 4wd but im not sure. i had someone drive by me to hear the sound.its coming from the front, seems to be worse when its coming to a stop and i think its doing it for a few seconds after i stop. and i noticed its pulling to the left a bit. i popped a tired off the bead and drove on it a ways, less than a mile and the jeep pulled way hard with the doughnut tire, then suddenly stop pulling and drove straight. i assume this is related?theres a few more factors involve but i wanted to see what u guys thing just based off this info

If you have definitely diagnosed it as a clicking noise and you have narrowed it down to the front left wheel. I would say it is the axle U-joint for that side. However, if it is the UJ, you definitely would not continue to hear it after the Jeep has stopped moving.
from oak harbor, cool. i used to live in burlington wa, now in everett. anyways i dont know if it does it after i stop or not, but it gets worse as i come to a stop.i dont hear it when im going fast. and it seems like it only does it while in 4w high. what makes you think left? is that the one that always goes bad, or because i mentioned the jeep pulls to the left some times?
would my 3" lift in the front have any effect on this? it was doing this with no lift but its worse now.i was wheeling androve on my rim 2 days ago and it pulled funny afterwards for a while and whent back to normal but i didnt have it in 4wd after so i dunno
on my passenger prop shaft in my axle my uj busted im replacing it now. get down and check all of your uj just give em a grab and try to move em. it helps to check all of them cuz sometimes you can here a sound that comes from the front but its really coming from the back. and thats all vehicles. and check your power sterring pump and all that to see if thats the problem. and mine pulls sometimes also.

can i drive the jeep still as long i dont use my 4wd or is there a chance this thing could break and cause seriuos damage?im thinking i shouldnt drive it till i fix it .
Id definitely replace that axle ujoint before you drive it again if the cups are loose. Even in 2wd those joints turn and take pressure from the steering. Replace and check over the other joints also. If you drive as is, it can cause lots of heartache when it breaks.
