getting my XJ (FINALLY!) in a few weeks and am planning to strip it to the bare essentials...

i'm planning to lose (actually try to sell some of it to get some money back) the windows (except windshield, until i bust it anyways), doors, anything emmissions related, hatch, carpet, padding, sound deadener, dash, all interior panels, all heat and ac components, roof rack, headliner........

basically i plan to have a bare cherokee with nothing but drivetrain, suspension, hood, fenders, grille, and lights...

basically a $250 (before selling anything) Rhino


so what do you think it will end up weighing? i do plan to add some stuff that will add some weight, but just want to get an idea of what i'll be starting at

 

maybe around 3300lbs or so, just a guess though I have no idea

 

stock weight as listed in the specs section on here is like 3000-3350 or something like that....i forgot to say that this is an 85 2 door v6 5 speed, so it's got to be close to the bottom of the weight scale...i'm guessing somewhere around 2000 after stripping it, maybe 2250

 

Sorry i was thinking stock was around 4000 so yeah my guess would be around 2200-2400lbs

 

anyone else?
