Weekend Trail Rig -- Tires, Lift, and Offset?
Well I've been putting around this site for awhile now, and figured it was time to ask some questions. Thanks to the information learned from this site, I was able to compile a list of things I need for a weekend rig.
My DD Ford exploder on 33s just didn't cut it as a trail rig, as you could have guessed. Neither did my ex.
So I've narrowed the search down to a 97-99 Cherokee (8.25 rear end).
For a lift, I was thinking the Rubicon Express 5.5" Long Arm Extreme-Duty lift.
My questions are:

My questions are:
- I really want the 35" TSL/SX's, but they only come in 15.5" width. They suggest a 15" rim with 10-12" width. What backspacing would I need for tires like these?
- Will the 35"s fit all right with just 5.5"? (I plan to hack the fenders and install bushwackers)
- Can the axles handle locked 35"s if I'm gentle with them? (I plan to beef up the Dana 30 a little bit)
- What shocks would you recommend?

First off swampers are horrable on the street. Just go with 33" BFG MT's on the 5.5 lift. A friend of mine has that lift and tire combo, looks and wheels great. He is running stock but regeard axles, air locker in the front, and a locker the rear.Warn flares, bumpers and a winch.

I guess I should have clarified a little more. Ride quality is not something that I'll be needing. I live about 4 minutes away from hundreds of miles of trails, mostly which are steep hill climbs with loose sandy dirt and the occasional LIGHT mud pit.
