Default Wattage question on headlight harness upgrade on XJ

Planning on doing the headlight wiring harness upgrade on my '96 XJ and went ahead and ordered one from LMC Truck, says 100/90W on the package.

Since then I've decided I'll probably run 55/100 bulbs.

Can you run bulbs rated at 55/100 on a wiring harness rated at 90/100? Are the two mismatched and would there be any problems?

Thanks

Yes, you can run the 55/100 bulbs on that harness. I believe the harness uses a separate relay for high and low beams. In this case, LMC is recommending a maximum load of 90 watts for low beams and 100 watts for high beam. Anything at or below that recommended load will work just fine, including your 55/100s.

No issue.

Ratings given for wiring are maxima, you can run under that without incident.

I run 90/100s on my MJ with the harness.
