Default water problems i think

Ok my head gasket blow the other day so i replaced it. But now it seems not to be blowing any heat and it doesnt seem to be circulating the water through the motor. Its like my thermastat is not opening or closing but im not really sure but i did put a knew one in today. I do know it seems to have alot of pressure building in the radiator. The temp gauge reads about 210 or so after it runs like 5 minutes but doesnt change after 30 minutes. I have also done a backflush on it thinking something might be clogged up. I have not yet replaced the water pump or the little heat sensor on the thermastat housing but guess i will tomorrow. Not sure what the problem could be so any help or ideas anyone has would be much appreciated. O and by the way this is on a 01 cherokee sport and it all started with the head gasket blowing.

Is the only problem no heater? If so, probably plugged heater core or heater trap door under the dash is stuck/not moving.

What year is you Jeep, size engine and any other info in it would help too. When you changed out the head gasket did you have the head checked out or did you just put the new gasket and put everything back together.

Ok, I just reread your post and I see it's an 01. I really do hope you had the head checked for cracks. If not you may have to pull it again to change out the head because your year has a crappy head that are known for cracking.

Yes, how did you diagnose the blown head gasket? The 0331 head on the 01 XJ (from the factory) has a known casting defect between cylinders 3-4, which can result in cracking at this spot.

Certainly the head gasket can be blown on any engine, but on this one and this year, a cracked head is actually more common.

The #1 symptom of a cracked 0331 cylinder head is unexplained coolant loss. Did you experience this symptom??

Its a 01 cherokee sport 4wd with a 4.0. Well my oil pressure gauge when all the way to 80 psi. So i checked the oil and noticed it was half way up the dip stick and milky looking so i just thought blown head gasket. But im sorry to say i didnt get the head checked for cracks. I just replaced the gasket and rolled on. And i was losing coolant but i also have a small crack in the radiator. But i repaced that yesterday and so far i havent lost any more coolant. I will be spending the day trying to figure this out.

If you were one of the lucky few that it was only the head gasket and not the head. That would be great for you. But, If you are going to run it as is. do you self a really big favor and keep a real close eye in the oil and coolant levels and quality of both. BTW, You said it runs at 210deg. that is normal running temp for our Jeeps.
Let us know it there are any new changes with it.
Good Luck
