The AC Evaperator drain is clogged. Depending on the year the drain comes out on the firewall or up in the unibody frame. Both passenger side.
a wire or comressed air should clear it out.

How might one locate the drain exit?

On your '97 find the thicker AC line at the firewall. Below it are 2 studs w/ nuts. the drain is a black tube below the bottom nut.

On xjmafia's '88 it is up in the frame. From the passenger fenderwell looking up at the C frame from behind the tire there's an ovalish hole. You'll have to get on your back to see it. looking thru that hole into the frame there's another smaller hole above it inside the frame. It's as hard to describe as it is to see it. That small hole is where the water is suppose to drain out and where I put my AC sniffer to check for Evap leaks when servicing older XJ's.

On most vehicles you can look onder the passenger dash and find the lowest point on the HVAC box to locate the AC drain.
